Happy Birthday Monica! Welcome Bristow

Bristow is complete. Whew! Just in time for my sister's birthday which is today. Happy Birthday Monica! I hope she likes it. I tried it on and the body fits well, but the sleeves are a bit big. Oh, well...

This was a great pattern. Here are the specifics:

Pattern: Bristow by Melanie Gibbons as shown in Knitty.
Yarn: Knit Picks Andean Silk in Hollyberry
Needles: Addi Turbo size 6 and 4 for the edging.

There are alot of things that I like about this pattern. The shaping was great, I like the edging done in seed stitch and the cabling was done in one area. This inspires me to create my own cardigan, with a V-neck and the cabling in the same area. But, I want to try this as a raglan. I got the book "Knitting from the Top" by Barbara Walker as a resource. I heard that it was pretty good. We'll see. I have to wait until I complete my Xmas knitting though. Too much stuff to make!

I have two balls left over of the Andean Silk. I think I am going to use it for Forbes Forest from Scarf Style. This yarn was great and I would definitely use it again.

One of the Xmas gifts that I am working on is Backyard Leaves from Scarf Style. I am using Karabella Aurora 8. This yarn is very soft. I am enjoying working with it.

Rowan 40 - Lichen

The new Rowan magazine is out and I absolutely love this sweater... But, I can't tell what the back looks like. Do you think there is a hood? Hope not. I have been trying to find a cardigan to knit for myself with cables and a V-neck. The cable pattern on this sweater is stunning. However, I live in Florida, so I don't think the lambswool/mohair is going to work. This sweater is knit in Rowan Kid Classic.

On other news, I finished my sister's sweater and am now in seaming hell. All I have left are the sleeves and then to knit on the buttonbands and collar. Pictures will be soon.

I have also begun knitting a sock with one of my Trekking XXL balls. Pictures soon....

Sock Yarn....Again?! But, that's ok...I'm in "love"...

I don't know what it is about sock yarn, but it is very easy to accumulate. There are SO many varieties of colors and textures.

I just got the most BEAUTIFUL sock yarn that I have EVER seen! Sock Hop Yarn. It is divine!

This colorway is called "Midnight Hour". They are sold out! I got lucky and ordered as soon as I saw it up, because they are now all gone and on backorder. I saw these on Amanda's site. I have "Love Me Tender" on order and am on the waiting list for "Heat Wave" and "I Got You Babe". These will make great Xmas presents! I am already starting to compile my list. Go ahead...get some!

I finally found some Trekking XXL. Boy is it hard to find! The colorways are #110 on the left and #100 on the right. These are also going to make some great gifts!
